Overview of Current Activities:
Contributes to the promotion of
efficiency energy use and energy diversification in
order to help the development of the industrial and
economic fabric of Catalonia.
The principle functions of ICAEN are focused on:
rational use of energy and exploitation of renewable
energy sources; fostering research and development of
energy technologies, equipment and industrial services
for the energy sector; training professionals in the
energy sector; preparation of studies and proposals for
regulations in the energy field; promotion and
participation of Catalan businesses and institutions in
state and international programs.
ICAEN actively: promotes dissemination of information
regarding energy technologies and potential financial
assistance programs; assists the training of energy
technology technicians and managers; participates in the
financing of innovative projects; and promotes research
and international cooperation.
These activities are grouped into various divisions:
Energy Assessment Program, International Promotion,
International Cooperation, Management of Local
Resources, and Information and Training.
